NEMHA at Equine Affaire 2018
The New England Morgan Horse Association (NEMHA) once again rallied its members to support the promotion of the Morgan breed at the Equine Affaire event in West Springfield, Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Equine Affaire brings together people interested in horses for education, demonstrations, and entertainment, as well as lots of shopping and visiting.
NEMHA staffs a retail booth, hospitality area, youth activities, the breed promotion stall and ring, as well as a dozen Morgans in Barn C. The NE Morgans and their people participate in a number of demonstrations as well as welcoming visitors to “Morgan Row”.
Morgan Row horses represented breed versatility and included Greg and Carol Fleck’s yearling, Partridge Hill Tangarita presented in-hand, Dina Blazensky’s SMP Frame Of Reference who demonstrated classic pleasure driving, both John Bennett’s Fool’s Challenge and Amy Severino’s Silver Lake In Line who were presented as carriage driving horses, and TMT Tilly Ann from UVM and Elizabeth Pelis’s Bay State Yankee as the classical dressage representatives while Peggy Vitarius’s WMS Hot August Knight GCH did double duty showing Western Dressage as well as hunter over fences. The Western pleasure and hunter pleasure Morgans were Jennifer Whitley’s Cricketdale Maxim Leader and Karen Bobbi’s Treble’s High End Piece. Nancy Warner’s CBMF Percussion showed off English pleasure while the Lukas’s Ultra’s Legal Holiday was the representative of the classic pleasure saddle horse. Kennebec Rugby is an eventer and he carried owner/trainer Kathleen Bailey sidesaddle too.
NEMHA member Liz Reitz says that she “can’t think of a better event to showcase all the wonderful things our Morgans can do” and Clare Simpson adds “It’s the best marketing tool for Morgans in the whole Morgan industry.”
